Twelve pirates in a grey coloured skiff approached a tanker underway. As the skiff closed to the vessel ladders were sighted. The alarm was raised, non-essential crew mustered in the citadel and the Master took anti-piracy measures. As the skiff manoeuvred towards the vessel the on-board security team fired warning shots resulting in the pirates aborting the attempted attack.
